How to use this tool
Choose a photo or graphic
Open a JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF, still AVIF or static self-contained SVG up to 20 MB. The image opens on your device; no Instagram login is needed.
Pick a size and frame your subject
Choose 1080 × 1080, 1080 × 1350, 1080 × 1440 or 1080 × 1920 pixels. Drag the selection to compose your image. The crop stays locked to the chosen proportions.
Download and check the placement
Save as JPG, or choose PNG to keep transparency. Check the exported picture, then review its placement in Instagram before posting. This tool downloads an image; it does not publish it.
One photo, several ways to frame it
A square gives you an even frame, while the portrait presets leave more room above and below your subject. The 9:16 preset creates a tall image for Stories or a vertical cover. Cropping removes the edges outside your selection, then resizing produces the exact preset dimensions without stretching. Keep important text near the center: Instagram can show different crops in a feed, profile grid or other preview. Start with a sufficiently large original, because enlarging a small selection cannot restore missing detail.
Frequently asked questions
Which Instagram image sizes can I make?
The presets export a square at 1080 × 1080 pixels (1:1), a portrait at 1080 × 1350 (4:5), a taller portrait at 1080 × 1440 (3:4), or a Story / vertical cover at 1080 × 1920 (9:16). These are the dimensions of your download. Instagram may crop its previews differently, so check the intended placement before posting.
Will the tool stretch my photo or add borders?
No. The crop stays matched to the selected preset and the retained area is resized proportionally. Parts outside the selection are removed, with no added borders. Move the selection to keep your subject in view. A small crop may look softer when enlarged.
Should I download JPG or PNG?
JPG is the default and offers adjustable encoding quality. PNG uses lossless encoding and can keep transparent areas, which is useful for graphics. JPG fills transparency with white. Your download contains a still image; original photo metadata is not retained.
Can I resize HEIC photos for Instagram?
Yes. HEIC/HEIF photos are decoded locally, and you can download the result as JPG or PNG. JPG, PNG, WebP, still AVIF and static self-contained SVG inputs are also supported. AVIF needs browser decoding support. Files must be at most 20 MB, with no side above 8,192 pixels and no more than 24 million pixels in total.
Does this tool connect to Instagram or publish my image?
No. It prepares image files in your browser without uploading your selected photo to Toolzorix, connecting to an Instagram account or publishing anything. It does not edit videos or create a video Story. Download the image and add it to Instagram yourself when you are ready.
